A most excellent idea

An excellent idea for a team activity right before the Mid-Illini meet
I found the following online today.  You should all try and get there.  I've been to one of these 'running movies' at Willow Knolls before and it's a great atmosphere, a theatre filled with racing geeks.

I'll plan on being at one of the two showings.  If people want to join me, or get a group together, let me know. Remember, it looks like you might want to get tickets ahead of time.

The Long Green Line movie is coming to Peoria, thanks to the Illinois Valley Striders, Running Central and others!

The Long Green Line is a much-heralded documentary which chronicles the York H.S. Dukes’ 2005 Cross Country season. As always, the Long Green Line ends up in Peoria. In 2005 York and legendary coach Joe Newton were seeking their 25th State title in fifty years. This is a must see for all x-country fans and for all of us that have wondered how York and Joe can do it year after year. It is also about young runners as they move from adolescence to manhood.

When: Oct 15th and 16th, at 7:00pm each night.
Where: Willow Knolls Theatres
Cost: $5.00 (proceeds go to IVS running programs)

Tickets are available at Running Central beginning Oct. 1, until they are gone. Get YOUR team together to see what can really make a team work, to the tune of 24 team titles in 50 years. Very exciting, motivational stuff that will make YOU want to get up and RUN!
